Café de Olla (Mexican Spiced Coffee)

  • What You Need: Ground coffee, water, cinnamon sticks, piloncillo (or brown sugar), and orange peel



  • Steps:
    1. In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water, 1 cinnamon stick, a small piece of orange peel, and 2 tablespoons of piloncillo or brown sugar to a boil.
    2. Once boiling, reduce the heat and add 3-4 tablespoons of ground coffee.
    3. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, then strain and serve in a mug.
    4. Optionally, garnish with extra cinnamon or a twist of orange peel.
